This is the beach at Exmouth, South Devon. It lies on a stretch of UK coastline called the Jurassic Coast. It is part of the World Heritage group of sites and was the first to be named in the UK. It covers about 100 miles of coast line from East Devon to the neighbouring County of Dorset.
World Heritage sites are defined as being places of ‘Outstanding Universal Value’ and it really is a quite beautiful stretch of coastline with many strange rock formations and other geology gems.
This is a 3 shot HDR handheld as it was shot around midday. I thought the colour version looked a bit...

Firstly, I must apologise for a recent lack of activity on this blog. I did intend to post at least one image per week but once again things have been so hectic in my life I just haven’t had the time.
This image was taken on visit to London back in March this year. I knew I wanted to get an image of the Albert Hall from this vantage point but imagine my disappointment when I found the tarpaulin of building work covering the view!
Still, I went ahead and pressed the shutter regardless! I did think about using the cloning tool in Photoshop to mask out the building works but not even...

This is Leadenhall Market in the City (Square Mile) of London. It has been in existence since the 14th Century, although the current colourful interior and ceiling date back to the late 1800′s.
I used to work around the corner from here for about 4 years back in the early 90′s and used to walk through the market most lunchtimes. It is a rather grand structure and most of the shops are aimed at the wealthy City workers which is probably why I never shopped here!!
I was watching the Women’s Marathon during the Olympics the other day when I spotted the runners come through the...

This is the Ponte Scaligero in Verona, Italy and was built around 1354. Actually thats not quite true, the bridge you see here is a faithful representation of the original 1300′s bridge! It was re-built in 1949 after the Germans blew it up when they knew the war was lost which is a shame really and a bit pointless.
By the way, I’d like to thank you all for your comments on my last post announcing my change to 1 post per week. I appreciate all your words of encouragement to carry on doing this blog, it means a lot.

Lately I’ve been so busy looking after my baby son (who is now crawling and almost walking!) and setting up my wedding photography business as well as my day job. As a result I have decided to cut back on the amount of blogs I post. I just don’t have the time to juggle everything and dedicate enough time to post 3-4 times a week. I do love doing this and have been posting for almost a year now! When I started this blog, for the first few months I posted 7 days a week and then cut it to 5 but now I just can’t keep up!!
Lately I’ve been posting about one image per week,...

Now we here in the UK have our summer back, I thought I’d celebrate with an image from past sunnier times in our Capital City.
This is County Hall, formally known as Red Ken’s GLC building in the 80′s and a fine structure it is too. These days it holds an aquarium and art exhibitions as well as being a ticket office for the adjacent London Eye. This was taken last summer on a fine summer evening whilst out for a walk along the Embankment.

I’ve been away for the past couple of weeks to Northern Ireland visiting my wife’s parents and generally having a chilled out break, so decided not to post, but now I’m back. I’ll be visiting all your blogs over the next few days to see what I’ve been missing!
I’ll be posting a few images from my trip but thought I’d start with this one. This was the first thing I shot. Something as simple as a dew leaf. Single raw with just a tinkering in Lightroom.

This is somewhere on the Icefields Parkway Highway in Banff, Canada. Its almost 2 years ago since I visited the Canadian Rockies and to be honest I’m very keen to return there again sometime.
The start of our long journey from Jasper to Banff was rainy and damp and by the time we got about half way, the sun came out which makes for much better photos with so much dramatic scenery. The highway here is so well catered for stopping and getting out for a photo opportunity, of which there are many!
Have a great weekend all…

Regular followers of my blog will know I finally shot my first wedding this past weekend and what an experience it was. It’s funny how even in a portrait like this I still incorporate a tiny bit of HDR. This has been processed in Nik’s Silver Efex Pro and the structure slider has been pushed up a few notches which gives it that HDR effect, but in this case I think it works. Needless to say, I haven’t used this effect in all the images, far from it. The bride has contacted me to say she is delighted with the images so far and can’t wait to see the rest when she returns...

I haven’t been processing many images lately as I’m gearing up for my first wedding next Saturday. I’ve been out practicing and making sure I know my gear inside out, which is crucial when shooting a wedding. I’ve also bought lots of back up CF cards, and batteries for my camera and flash. I’ll post an image from the wedding next weekend, I can’t wait!
I’ve been posting a lot of shots from my place of birth, London lately, so I thought I’d post something else for a change.
The structure in this image is the San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice,...
