This image was taken during one of my photography dawn raids across Paris!
Sometimes when you go dawn shooting it can be a rewarding experience and well worth the early start and other times it can be a huge disappointment when the golden light fails to materialise.
I felt I was rewarded that morning with a golden sunrise. I happened to be at Louvre when the sunrise started and I knew the nice light would only last for a short while, so I decided to frame the sunrise through the Arc De Triomphe du Carrousel.
As it turned out by the time I walked to the nearby River Seine the best of the sunrise had all but disappeared. Oh well.

Nice work. Yea, it is a crapshoot with sunrises and sunsets. I like how you got the sun rays clearly visable in the shot on the left! I really need to get back here and properly shoot this city!
Incredibly gorgeous piece. Well done!
I love the off-center framing Marc, and the light coming thru the arches is awesome!
Beauty of a shot, Marc. It’s hit and miss on those sunrises but well worth the effort.
Really love this Marc. The perspective from the low vantage point coupled with the textures are terrific.
Spectacular sunrise and to be at this location is like the holy grail! Awesome!
You certainly were rewarded. This is beautiful. Love your composition.
The early start was rewarded! The quality of the shadow areas of this is so well handled – brilliant processing, Marc
Amazing Marc, the POV combined with your excellent processing really bring the shot to life.
What an amazing image Marc! Great job.
Beautiful image Marc! The glow of the sky is fantastic but the composition and features are superb as well.
Wow! This is gorgeous. I love the gold peeking through the archway!
Cracking image Marc! Thanks for the comments during the year and have a great Christmas!
Superb shot Marc! Amazing processing too
Merry Christmas!
Your early rise certainly paid off. One of my favorites.
Awesome shot. Well worth te early rising.
Well framed here Marc, beautiful light and colors!
This is a really cool shot man. Good job on the truck removal too, I can’t tell at all.
