This grand building is the Imperial War Museum in Lambeth, London. Out of all the museums in London, and there are many, this is hands down my favourite. I am very much interested in all things World War II, so this place is a treasure trove of information and exhibits.
The museum was founded during the First World War in 1917 and intended as a record of the war effort and sacrifice of Britain and her Empire. Today the museum gives its mission as “to enable people to have an informed understanding of modern war and its impact on individuals and society”.
These imposing 15-inch guns on display outside the building are from HMS Ramillies, which served in both World Wars.
What a cool composition Marc. The barrels of the gun are 3D like. Really cool.
Iconic shot of a famous London building. Excellent work, Marc
Fantastic shot, Mark. Your processing and composition are perfect. Nice job.
Great shot, and brilliant processing!
Man those guns really get your attention! Love your choice of perspective, adds a real sense of power to the whole image.
Great PoV, Marc. The guns have an almost 3D quality to them which really draws the viewer’s attention. Great detail in the rest of the scene, too.
Fantastic shot Marc! Definitely my kind of shot, I love the story and history behind this picture, a really interesting scene.
This is a very cool shot Marc. I love this composition and processing is spot on.
This is one place my brother and I keep saying we must visit but never get round to it! I too love all that history. I will visit it soon!
